TRANSFORMATIVE PRACTICES
The following list includes practices, which research demonstrates, that when done on a structured basis and as a disciplined part of one's daily routines, lead to transformation of some part of the person's life.
1. Meditation: Any recognized form of meditative experiences
2. Writing: journaling, poetry, etc
3. Reading: inspirational, spiritual writings
4. Prayer and contemplation
5. Movement:
- Yoga, any of various styles
- tai chi routines and stances
- martial arts routines
- walking, jogging, running
- dance
6. Visualization: guided imagery, goals, purpose or life, personal agenda
7. Sounds: healing sounds, chants, mantras, drumming, listening to or singing songs,
8. Body Work: Massage, Reiki, somato-emotional release, aromatherapy.
9. Water: watching, sitting by, listening to water
10. Breath work: Forms of breath exercises
11. Mirror work: Daily dialogue with the self in the mirror
12. "Mindfulness" in activities of daily living
13. Creative activity: crafts, creative activity with your hands
14. Zentangles, Mandalas; other such art with repetitive strokes requiring sustained focus.
